Bio - John Burns

My name is John Burns. I am currently a student at Phoenix College, and this is my first year as a Stem TRAIN student. I am a Statistics major, with strong ties to the Liberal Arts department, specifically the Archaeology and Anthropology departments. I am currently working on three projects. The project for my Stem internship is to look at Bone densities from X-rays from a collection of bones found in Egypt and to look at how age affects bone density. As well as a write up for an archaeological survey for work done in the Superstitions wilderness. And finally a write up on pottery found in the Superstitions and an in-depth look at what tempers the pottery is made from to see if the pottery was made independently at the site or was traded for and made by the Hohokam in the Phoenix area.

I have a dear and strong love for math and on the side, I am teaching myself about the history and development in math. At the moment I'm going through Euclid's first six books of the Elements.
